Team Disney Building (Burbank, California)

Michael Graves
1991

This is one of three buildings designed by Graves for the Disney Corporation, The two other buildings also incorporate gigantic sculpture in the design of the building (swans and dolphins); these kooky hotels are located at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This more traditional structure is L-shaped and follows the perimeter of the Disney studio lot.

The entrance gateway and the entrance end.

The seven dwarves (19 feet tall) serve as caryatids for the somewhat classical facade; one dwarf is under the gable.

The Mickey Mouse fence and one side of the L-shaped building

One side of the L connects to a six-story cylindrical section.

The corner of the L--at Alameda Avenue and Buena Vista Street and the other end of the L, terminating in a post-modern apse.
