Savoy Hotel (originally Savoy Plaza Hotel)

Victor Hugo Nellenbogen
1935
425 Ocean Drive

This Art Deco hotel has the typical tripartite facade, topped with a mini ziggurat. It lacks, however, the eyebrows above the windows for protection against the glare of the sun.

Vertical fluting of various widths, a wavy nautical design on the first register, stainless steel accents, and a bas relief in the center featuring a tropical scene are the main decorative devices.
