Georgia Dome

Heery/Rosser Fabrap International and Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback and Associates
1989-92

At the time it was built, the Georgia Dome was the third largest domed stadium in the United States. The structure serves not only as stadium but an exhibit space as well. It features the "world's largest rigid cable-supported oval dome, with a translucent roofing membrane made of Teflon-coated fiberglass on a corporate-looking base, with metal panels and a five-story atrium at each of the four corners" (Gournay 69).
