The Performing Arts and Athletic Center, Paideia School

Dowling Architects
1987

This campus is comprised largely of elegant older homes transformed to school buildings. However, this large contemporary structure has been nestled in the neighborhood and houses an auditorium and gym.
This low-lying building is designed for the residential context with homey details like shingles, decorative brick patterns, and wood trim--a tame version of post-modernism.
