Night Sail

Louise Nevelson
1985
painted aluminum and steel, 30'H x 20'W x 9"D

Frontal view

In a narrow space between two office towers, this large sculpture is difficult to see from any distant view and from the adjacent sidewalk it is almost hidden by trees . Night Sail alludes to nautical forms as well as the sea itself. The aluminum and steel work weighs 33 tons and is painted a mat black.
