course. Correspondence between these plans and what actually occurred in class
on that day is never perfect and sometimes quite inexact. In particular, these
notes usually contain more than we actually managed to cover in class. Web
sites and links included here generally relate fairly closely to the subjects
described for each day.

Note: As of Aug. 22, 2002, most student journals from Spring 2002 have been removed from these pages. Students in the Fall 2002 course should note that the structure of the course will be similar, but not identical.
Day 2 On Juhnke/Hunter chapter 2: The Original Peacemakers: Native Americans.
Day 3 On Juhnke/Hunter chapters 3 and 4: The Revolutionary War and republican peace experiments.
Day 4 On Juhnke/Hunter chapter 5: the antislavery movement. Also materials on ways to fight terrorism, and on the Enron scandal.
Day 5 On Juhnke/Hunter chapters 6 and 7: the Civil War and Reconstruction. Includes "alternate history" links.
