Traditional tiled front blocking modern street trafficLocated on a busy street and lacking a processional front plaza, this facade still is impressive. The columns, covered in yellow and blue and white tiles which are set on the diagonal in a zig zag pattern, contrast strikingly with the plain red brick front, with the brick laid in a herringbone pattern. The bell tower is set at the corner.
|The inner columns have capitals with human figures in stucco, echoing the stucco statues which punctuate the facade--flanking the portal and above the choir window. See below.|
